Ozark Mountain Groove holds hunt for records

Doug Driesel, Jr. talks to participants as albums can be seen on the ground. Fun was had by all on the hunt.
Everyone loves a good, old-fashioned Easter Egg Hunt. But when an adult who can buy their own candy, what exactly would an adult hunt for? On Good Friday, 92.5 FM Ozark Mountain Groove came up with a great answer, they held a hunt for records.
After taking entries for three weeks, five winners were selected. The Ozark Mountain Groovy (a.k.a. Doug Driesel, Jr.) placed 52 vinyl records all over the station lawn. The five contestants were lined up in a row and given 10 minutes to collect all the records they could, along with prizes like water bottles and coffee from Moose Run Coffee in Houston.
While spectators looked on, contestants gleefully grabbed every album they could. And since the albums were covered with paper, there was no way to tell what they were picking up.
Some of the most enjoyed albums were “She’s So Unusual” by Cyndi Lauper and “Pet Sounds” by The Beach Boys.
All of the albums had been played on the air on Ozark Mountain Groove.
After pulling albums and having snacks, the contestants did a quick on-air, letting their voices be heard all over the listing area.
All in all, it was a great time had by all.
