Hartville beats Mountain Grove and is undefeated

After picking up a win over a Wright County foe and a pair of Summit Conference victories, the Hartville Eagles’ baseball team is now undefeated this spring with a 6-0 overall record.
In a road match-up in Mountain Grove, the Eagles held a slim 3-2 lead through six innings before scoring five in the top of the seventh to pull away for an 8-4 road victory.
In that final at-bat, Hartville took advantage of three Panthers’ errors and a hit-by-pitch to score their runs.
Trace Harker did hit a single that plated two runs in Mountain Grove’s final at-bat, but their rally fell short.
Offensively, Truett Coryell led Hartville with one RBI and two runs scored; Gus Sinning and Jacob Meglan had one RBI and scored one run; while Brock Jones and Hunter Lowery each had one RBI.
On the mound, Lowery tossed four and a third innings and scored two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts and five walks.
Gus Sinning had one and a third innings of shutout ball and gave up one hit with one strikeout and one walk.
Cole Sinning tossed one and a third innings and gave up one earned run on two hits with one walk.
Sawyer Kidd, Seth Thompson and Harker each had one RBI for the Panthers while Briar Parsons, Kayne Meyer, Kason Rollins and Eli Golden each scored one run.
Golden tossed three and a third shutout innings and gave up three hits with five strikeouts and four walks.
Thompson tossed three innings and gave up three earned runs on three hits with six strikeouts and five walks. Brady Burnett tossed two-thirds of a scoreless inning  and struck out one.
One day later, Hartville hosted Fordland in their Summit Conference opener and picked up a big 5-0 win.
Gus Sinning tossed a complete-game gem as he gave up no runs on three hits with 13 strikeouts.
He also hit a three-run home run  and had three RBIs and one run scored.
Cole Sinning hit a solo home run and finished with one RBI and scored twice.
Brodyn Hulsey had one RBI while Coryell scored twice.
Hartville ended the week with a 6-2 win in Seymour for another Summit Conference victory.

Gus Sinning had two RBIs; Hunter Walker had one RBI and one run scored; and Coryell scored twice.
Coryell also tossed six innings and gave up no earned runs on three hits with nine strikeouts and three walks. Cole Sinning  tossed scoreless inning and had two strikeouts and one walk.
