Hartville girls win two district titles

Hartville’s Kinley Cryer and McKenzi Stigall both won district titles.

The Hartville Lady Eagles’ track and field team won two individual district championships and qualified for sectionals in six different events after competing in last weekend’s Class 2, District 5 meet in Cuba.
As a team, the Lady Eagles earned 58 points for seventh place overall.
Kinley Cryer had a big day as she won the 800 meters district title with a time of 2:36.02.
She also took second in the 100-meter hurdles (17.95) and second in the 300-meter hurdles (52.30).
McKenzi Stigall won the district title in the 400 meters with her time of 1:05.45.
She was also third in the 200 (27.79).
Shaelynn Ghormley qualified for sectionals in the discus with her fourth place toss of 23.95 meters.
No Eagles qualified for sectionals, but Broc Roden did have a pair of sixth place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles (19.46) and 300-meter hurdles (46.91).
The athletes who advanced past districts will compete in this weekend’s Class 2, Sectional 3 meet set for Buffalo.
