Three county teams compete in Fair Grove
Three Wright County track and field programs competed last week in the Fair Grove Relays and experienced some success.
Mansfield
The Lions’ Kellen Campbell won the triple jump event after leaping 12.94 meters in Fair Grove. He was also sixth in the long jump (5.9 meters).
Michael Ivey was fourth in the 3,200 (11:10.81) and eighth in the 1,600 (5:00.30). Brent Stuart took fifth in the 3,200 (11:11.62) and seventh in the 1,600 (4:59.21).
Kaden Young was fourth in the long jump (5.92 meters).
Devynn Ball had the Lady Lions’ best finish by taking sixth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 56.34 seconds.
Norwood
As for Norwood, Jayden Chambers was second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 50.08 seconds and she took fourth in the 1,600 (5:55.91).
Kalie Chadwell placed second in the long jump (4.83 meters) and sixth in the 400 meters (1:06.12).
Hartville
As for Hartville, McKenzi Stigall had a big day placing second in the 400 meters (1:03.14) and fourth in the 200 (28.55).
Kinley Cryer was second in the 800 meters with her time of 2:35.37.
Shaelynn Ghormley was seventh in the discus with a toss of 24.83 meters.
The 4x400-meter relay team was seventh (4:55.63).
No Eagles earned top-eight finishes. That said, Broc Roden was ninth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.61.
