Incredible rally lifts Mansfield past Norwood

The Mansfield Lions took on the Norwood Pirates in a battle on the baseball diamond last week.
Entering their final at-bat, the Mansfield Lions’ baseball team found themselves down 6-1 and were in need of a miracle if they were going to rally to knock off Wright County foe Norwood.
With one out and the bases loaded, a hit-by-pitch scored on run followed by Jaxon Clark’s RBI single.
Another hit-by-pitch then an error quickly cut the lead to 6-5.
Aiden Garrison then hit walk-off, two-RBI single that scored both Clark and Easton Thompson to complete the come-from-behind win.
Both Brayden Stuart and Garrison had two RBIs; Parker Moody had three hits; while Fisher Croney, Clark and Thompson each had one RBI and scored one run.
Bryston Kingery picked up the win after tossing one inning and giving up two earned runs on one hit and one walk.
Croney tossed two innings and gave up one earned run on one hit with two walks. Stuart tossed two scoreless innings gave up two hits with four strikeouts. Garrison allowed two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts. Clark tossed a scoreless inning and gave up one hit with one strikeout.
Offensively, Norwood was led by Laken Coatney’s two RBIs and two runs scored; Payton McCune had one RBI and one run scored; Holten Lopez had one RBI; and Pierce Lawson scored twice.
Coatney tossed six and a third innings and gave up six earned runs on 11 hits and three strikeouts and three walks. Lopez gave up one hit.
