Lady Lions fall early in districts

The Mansfield Lady Lions’ softball season came to an end last week in the first round of the Class 1, District 4 Tournament in Gainesville.
In the match-up with No. 4 seed Bakersfield, the home Lions on the scoreboard scored at least one run in all but one inning in their 8-0 shutout victory.
Laikyn Ball and Kayley Kingery both had two of their team’s four total hits in the loss.
Addie Jones tossed six innings and gave up six earned runs on three hits with nine strikeouts and 13 walks.
Mansfield’s season ended with a 9-16 overall record.
