Lady Lions fall late to area rival Ava Lady Bears

In their lone match-up with area rival Ava last week, the Mansfield Lady Lions were tied with the Lady Bears at 4-4 through five innings. Unfortunately, Ava plated seven runs in the bottom of the sixth for an 11-5 victory.
Kayley Kingery started the game with a lead-off home run and finished with one RBI and scored two runs.
Cayley Young had three hits and two RBIs; Jadalyn Coble had one RBI; Addie Jones scored twice; and Mansfield’s Mylee Sullivan scored one run.
Jones tossed six innings and gave up no earned runs on 12 hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
Mansfield’s defense did commit six errors in the loss.
The Lady Lions are now 5-4 overall for the spring season.
