Lady Lions volleyball beats Niangua in tournament

The Mansfield Lady Lions’ volleyball team picked up one win in the Third Annual Mansfield Lady Lions Invitational recently.
In a battle with Niangua, the Lady Lions dominated the Lady Cardinals for a 25-12 and 25-17 victory.
They followed that match with a tough 25-21, 25-16 loss to Seymour and a 25-15, 25-6 loss to Blue Eye.
Mansfield also lost a pair of Summit Conference matches last week.
Against a now 20-win Fordland team, they fell 25-13 in the first two sets and 25-12 in set three.
At Sparta, the Lady Lions lost 25-10, 25-17 and 25-16.
Two days later, they traveled to Dora and lost in three sets. They fell 25-16, 25-12 and 25-22.
Mansfield is competing in the Class 1, District 7 Tournament this week in Winona. They take on No. 3 seeded Couch at 7 p.m. on Oct. 23. A win gives them a semifinals match-up with either Summersville or Koshkonong at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24. The championship match is 6 p.m. Oct. 27.
