Mansfield leaves Thayer with big win

The Mansfield Lions picked up a huge road victory last week when they traveled to Thayer and left the Bobcats’ gym with a 73-59 victory.
Jace Headrick made three, 3-pointers in a 20-point first quarter and had 14 total points.
Thayer rallied in the second quarter, but Malachi Ussery’s six points kept the Lions within one point at halftime.
Mansfield took over the game in the third quarter with a 28-point frame.
Headrick made three more 3-pointers and scored 24 points for the Lions.
Kellen Campbell added five points in the fourth to help seal the win.
Headrick finished with 37 points in the win for the Lions after making 8-of-16, 3-point attempts. He also added four rebounds.
Campbell had 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks; Ussery scored eight points, four rebounds and four assists; Fisher Croney had six points and three rebounds; Kaden Young added five; and Haven Proetz scored one point and five rebounds.
