Mansfield Lions’ baseball starts at .500

The Mansfield Lions’ baseball team has opened their season with a 2-2 record.
They started with a Summit Conference win over Fordland, 11-3.
Bryston Kingery hit a solo home run and finished with three hits, five RBIs and one run scored. Easton Thompson had two RBIs and one run scored while Fisher Croney and Jaxon Clark had one RBI and scored twice.
Brayden Stuart tossed five innings and gave up one earned run on two hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Aiden Garrison tossed two scoreless innings and gave up one hit with three strikeouts.
Their other win was a 17-1 thrashing of Dora. Croney hit a solo home run to finish with one RBI and three runs scored; Garrison had three RBIs and three runs scored; John Roberts had three RBIs and two runs scored; Parker Moody had three RBIs and one run scored; while Thompson had two RBIs and scored twice.
Cole Whorton tossed three innings and gave up one earned run on one hit with seven strikeouts and three walks.
Mansfield did pick up a tough 6-2 loss to Conway as Clark had the lone RBI. Croney tossed four innings and gave up three earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks. Garrison went three innings and gave up one earned run on three hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
They ended the week with a 7-3 loss in Gainesville as the Bulldogs scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Moody had one RBI while Garrison and Whorton both scored one run.
Brayden Stuart tossed six innings and gave up four earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks.
