Two Mansfield runners move on to state race

Two Mansfield cross country runners will compete in the upcoming Class 1 State Championships race on Saturday, Nov. 8 in Columbia on the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
Brent Stuart and Benjamin Williams both finished in the Top-30 of the Class 1, District 2 race in Hermitage against a field of 99 runners to qualify.
Stuart was 29th with a time of 19:36.84 while Williams came in 30th place with a time of 19:36.96.
Other runners included Tre’Bor Woods (22:17.14), Kayne Mowers (24:09.13) and Owen Scofield (24:09.54).
As a team, the Lions were eighth in the district with 171 points.
In the recent Summit Conference meet held in Conway, both Stuart and Williams earned All-Conference honors.
Stuart was sixth place overall with a time of 19:45.98 while Williams placed ninth with a time of 20:04.87.
Other runners included Woods (22:11.69), Scofield (24:14.83) and Mowers (27:07.25).
The Lions were fourth as a team with 92 points.
