Lady Pirates’ softball opens by crushing Alton in 17-1 victory

The Norwood Lady Pirates’ softball team got off to a great start last week with a dominating 17-1 win at Alton.
Jayden Chambers hit a solo home run to centerfield and ended the game with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Maddie Campbell led the offense with three hits, five RBIs and two runs scored.
Gentry Davault had three RBIs and one run scored; Jaycee Hall had two RBIs and two runs scored; Addy Gray with three runs scored; Addison Smith had one RBI and scored three runs; and Mayci Calhoun had one RBI and one run scored. Campbell tossed four scoreless innings and gave up two hits with nine strikeouts and one walk.
