Free “Annie” audition workshop open to community on March 28

Ever wondered what it takes to land a role in a Broadway-style show? The STARS Foundation invites youth and adults from Cabool, Houston, Mountain Grove and surrounding communities to a free public Audition Workshop on Saturday, March 28, at the Opus Building (208 Highway 181, Cabool).
The workshop, held from 2-5 p.m., will help participants prepare for open auditions for the beloved Broadway musical Annie, which will take place April 17. The production is scheduled for June 25–27. No prior theater experience or current STARS enrollment is required. Designed to be beginner-friendly, the workshop will offer guidance on song selection, audition confidence, and what to expect during the audition process. Organizers encourage anyone curious about theater, from first-timers to seasoned performers — to attend. “We are excited to bring back one of our large productions that previously sold out and welcomed more than 1,200 audience members,” said Rebecca Peterson, Executive Director of The STARS Foundation. This open call continues the STARS Foundation’s mission to provide high-quality fine arts opportunities in rural Missouri, building on past productions, variety shows, and holiday concerts.
