Grand Jury Report
(Editor’s note: The following is a official report from the Grand Jury of Wright County.)
“We, the Grand Jury of Wright County on Aug. 14, 2025 toured the Wright County jail at the Hartville Courthouse. Detective Akers gave us an excellent tour, and answered all of our question satisfactorily. We viewed the operations center, the prisoner pods, one prisoner cell with bunks, the kitchen, the hall with holding cells including the drunk tank and also the officer’s interview room and offices. We were impressed with the facilities cleanliness, temperature and general comfort. We felt the food was more than sufficient, and the doors/locks/rooms were very secure. Though the premises were decently comfortable, we feel it presents a significant deterrent factor. We are impressed with the opportunity for inmates to access the ministry and feel that their access to tablets is an unnecessary excess. We feel disappointed with the lack of help and funding for the officers and their pay, and would like to see improvement in that area. Thank you for this opportunity. “
