April election races are set in Wright County

Several candidates officially signed up by the Dec. 31, 2024 deadline to run for one of several Wright County city and school district positions up for election on April 8, 2025.
Mountain Grove
There are several contested races on tap for the April election with the City of Mountain Grove.
Incumbent Mayor Fred VanBibber filed. Mayoral candidates Webb Friend and David Todd have also filed for the race.
In Ward I, both Dean Curtis and Wayne Shelley have declared their candidacies.
Incumbent Jamie Davis and challenger Amanda Parker both filed in Ward II.
In Ward III, incumbent Zach Hurtt and Adam Jenkins will both be running for the alderman seat.
As for Ward IV, Carmen McCarty was the lone person to put their name on the ballot.
Incumbent Danny Bledsoe was the lone candidate for the Marshall/Ex Officio Collector position.
Several candidates have declared their intentions to run for three positions with the Mountain Grove R-III School Board in April.
Incumbents Howard Hawkins and Jay Loveland are running for three-year terms. Their challengers include Logan Williams, Amanda Owens and Zach Richardson.
In the one-year term race, Shawna Plummer, who was appointed the position, will be running against Sheena White.
Mansfield
In the City of Mansfield, Mayor Pro Tem Derrick Neal was the lone person to file for the mayoral race.
In the Ward II race with a one-year term, Tammy Barrett, who was appointed the seat, has filed. Also filing for the position was Josiah Hughes.
Justin Thurman has filed for the Ward I alderman position while Luke Lawson has filed for the two-year term in Ward II.
As for the Mansfield R-III School Board race, there will be no election as incumbents Zach Miller and Doug Tripp were the two lone filings.
Hartville
In the City of Hartville, incumbent Mayor Jessica Vandergrift was the lone mayoral candidate to declare their candidacy.
Lindell Howard, Jeff Bettendorf and Melvin Moon all filed for the three, two-year term seats.
Jarrett Calton once again filed for one of the one-year term positions.
Newcomer Ashlynne Dickinson filed for the other one-year term position, currently being held by Terisa Tooley.
There will be no election for the Hartville R-II School Board as the needed number of candidates was met by the filing deadline.
Incumbents Dustin Arnall and Jeff Palmer both signed up for a three-year term. Randy Dugger signed up for the one-year term position that was previously held by Dylan Curtis.
Norwood
There will be no April election in the City of Norwood as the needed number of candidates applied.
Incumbent Mayor Steven Jarrett was the lone mayoral candidates. Alderman candidates putting their name on the ballot were Golda Johnston and Ronnie Shores.
As for the Norwood R-I School Board, the election includes one vacant seat with a one-year term as well as two, three-year term seats.
Those filing for the one-year term race are Donavan L. Finch, Curtis Smith, Amber (Sullivan) Davis and Tyler Harris.
As for the two, three-year term seats, R.A. Bradshaw, Debbie Shelton and Colby Allen are the three candidates.
