Doctor turns himself in after domestic incident with a gun

Dr. Matthew Brown
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office has reported a domestic disturbance arrest involving a firearm.
According to their report, on Aug. 16, Corporal Campbell was dispatched to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm near Mountain Grove. Due to the nature of the call, assistance from the Mountain Grove Police Department was requested.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that the suspect, Dr. Matthew A. Brown, 42, had fled the scene. Through investigation, Corporal Campbell determined that Brown had fired a firearm, striking the porch and had also fired a shot inside the residence.
The victims fled into the woods to escape the situation. This was noted, among other details, in the probable cause statement. A no bond warrant was issued for Dr. Brown. On Aug. 20, Dr. Brown turned himself in to law enforcement.
He was later released the same day on a $10,000 cash bond, with GPS monitoring, house arrest and other standard conditions.
He joined the staff of Missouri Ozarks Community Health in Mansfield back in July.
His official charges are domestic assault in the third degree and unlawful use of a weapon (exhibiting). All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
