Meth found on Springfield man after a traffic stop in Norwood

Preston Montgomery

A Springfield man was arrested after a traffic stop in Norwood back on May 12.
According to a Wright County Sheriff’s Office report, while speaking to the occupants of the vehicle, Deputy Jordan was advised the passenger, Preston Montgomery, had an active probation and parole warrant.
Montgomery was placed under arrest and a search was conducted.
Deputy Goodwin located drug paraphernalia and a bag containing a crystal like substance on Montgomery. The crystal like substance field tested positive for methamphetamine. Montgomery was transported to the Wright County Jail and was charged with possession of a controlled substance. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
