Two arrested for meth and other charges

An arrest was made in Wright County for a Douglas County warrant for possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia back on March 25.
According to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Report, the warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by Sgt. Aaron Box and Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase after they responded to a domestic assault at the Shala Williams and Jeffery Scott Evans’ residence during the early morning hours of March 14.
For Williams, a $1,500 cash only bond was set.
Evans had fled the area before law enforcement arrived.
Methamphetamine and paraphernalia were seized form within the residence.
A warrant was issued for Jeffery Scott Evans for domestic assault in the first, armed criminal action, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $25,000 cash only.
On March 26,, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Ava Police Department served a search warrant at Jeffery Scott Evans’s residence north of Ava, where Evans was taken into custody.
Evans refused to comply with directives to get on the ground. Evans was assisted to the ground by Sheriff Degase, where Evans continued to resist arrest and not comply, ending with Evans being taken into custody. Additional methamphetamine was located within the residence.
Evans was arrested on the $25,000 warrant with additional charges of resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance forthcoming.
Sheriff Degase would like to thank Ava Police Department for their assistance with this case.
“We will continue to actively pursue those who use and distribute illegal narcotics,” he said.
“It is highly suggested that you either quit those activities or move.”
