Hartville Eagles’ skid now at three straight

Hartville’s Boone Garrison glides in for a layup against Chadwick in their Homecoming win.

The Hartville Eagles’ basketball team entered last Friday’s Homecoming match-up with Class 1 state-ranked Chadwick on a rare three game losing streak.
Head coach Brett Reed’s group responded in their first game in seven days by handing the Cardinals their worse loss of the season, a 30-point thrashing, 66-36.
The Eagles opened the game on a 17-11 run with the help of a pair of Jordan O’Quinn 3-pointers and his eight points.
Hartville’s defense would go on to hold Chadwick to nine points or less in the final three quarters of play.
Gus Sinning’s seven points in the second quarter helped Hartville take a 14-point lead into halftime.
Truett Coryell hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored seven points in the second half to help his team seal the 30-point win.
Gus Sinning led Hartville with 16 points; Boone Garrison added 14; O’Quinn had 13; Coryell seven; Hayden Johns had six; and both Brock Jones and Cole Sinning scored four points.
