Hartville golf takes second in Summit Conference

The Hartville Eagles’ golf team left its mark on the links last week as they competed in both conference and district tournaments.
The Eagles were second place as a team with a 349 at the Summit Conference Tournament played on May 5 at Randel-Hinkle Golf Course in Mountain Grove.
Jesse Hughes shot a 78 for second place and Jace Hughes added an 81 for third place to earn All-Conference honors.
Brent Mount earned honorable mention All-Conference honors with his 93.
Other scores came from Jesse Vestal (97) and Hunter Potter (108).
Then in the Class 1, District 3 Tournament, the Eagles were seventh in the team standings with a 365.
The event was played at the Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course in Springfield.
Jace Hughes qualified for the Class 1 State Championships after shooting a 78 for sixth place and All-District honors.
Other scores came from Jesse Hughes (88), Vestal (95), Mount (105) and Potter (135).
Jesse Hughes will compete at state for Class 1 on May 18-19 at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield.
