Hartville Lady Eagles look to take next step with experienced players

The Hartville Lady Eagles’ basketball team is returning six players from its squad that finished just one game under .500 a season ago with a 12-13 overall record.
Leading the way for the Lady Eagles is the play of All-Summit Conference juniors Kinley Cryer and Maddie Brown.
Cryer will be guarding the best guards from opposing teams on most nights. Brown is versatile and can play any positions from the two to five.
Junior Sarah Palmer returns to the post and is expected to make an impact this season. Junior Carlyn Cantrell started every game a season ago and will be a key with her shooting and ability to defend.
Other key returners are Brielle Kline and Saige Petty.
Key newcomers include freshmen Geneva Culver and Jacey Revey.
They will be without defender Katia Todd, who they lost to graduation.
Hartville opens their season in the 11th Annual Fordland Invitational from Dec. 1-6. They will host Mountain Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 8.
