Lady Eagles score 12 runs in two straight wins
The Hartville Lady Eagles’ softball team scored 12 runs in two straight wins last week to push their record to 13-7 on the season.
At New Covenant Academy, the Lady Eagles’ took just enough advantage of 10 defensive errors for a 12-10 win.
Peyton Dudley had three hits, five RBIs and two runs scored; McKenzi Stigall had one RBI and scored twice; Ella Fairchild had one RBI; Brielle Kline scored four times; while Beyah Widner, Sarah Palmer and Claire Dickinson each scored one run.
Fairchild tossed seven innings and gave up six earned runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
The second win was a 12-3 home victory over Stoutland.
Kline tallied four RBIs and two runs scored; Dudley had three RBIs; Palmer had two RBIs and scored one run; Katia Todd had one RBI and scored two runs; Fairchild had one RBI; while both Dickinson and Maddie Brown scored twice.
On the mound, Fairchild tossed seven innings of shutout ball and gave up eight hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
