Mansfield, Norwood and Hartville CC runners shine in Conway

Mansfield cross country runners with their medals and plaques from the recent Conway Invitational. Both Nolyn Corder and Faith Clark took first place in the race.
Three Wright County teams competed in the Conway Invitational back on Oct. 10.
Mansfield
The Lions won the team title for the event after their 31 points held off Fordland by 22 points.
Nolyn Corder won the race in the 57-runner field with his time of 17:39.21. That time was nearly a minute better than a runner’s from Stoutland.
The Lions’ other five runners also finished in the Top-20.
Michael Ivey took seventh (19:29.57), Riley Stidham finished eighth (19:41), Zachary McCrite was 14th (20:12.59), Aaron Veenstra finished 15th (20:22.85) and Benjamin Williams was 16th (20:23.26).
As for the Lady Lions, Faith Clark won the race by more than 20 seconds with her time of 20:31.02.
Gentry Alsup was eighth place with a time of 28:31.28. Addie Jones took 15th (29:29.51) and Chloe Napier was 23rd (38:59.58).
Mansfield also competed in the Clever Invitational on Oct. 17 as they were the lone area cross country program to compete in that race.
Corder led the Lions with a fourth place finish after his time of 16:18.29 in a field with 147 runners. Ivey was also in the Top-25 with a 23rd place time of 18:07.17.
Braxton Bolfing was 28th (18:22.41) while the other runners included Stidham (18:42.72), McCrite (18:51.54), Williams (19:04.74) and Veenstra (19:08.93).
As a team, the Lions were fourth place with 125 points.
Clark led the Lady Lions with her third place finish after a time of 19:32.71.
Alsup was 26th place with a time of 23:01.70 while Jones also competed (30:37.52).
Norwood
All three Norwood Lady Pirates’ runners finished in the Top-15 in the race.
Jayden Chambers was fifth (23:15.50), Kalie Chadwell finished sixth (24:46.74) and Sadie Kelly was 13th (27:46.80).
As for the Pirates, Gunner Bradshaw was 20th place with his time of 20:55.25. Kyle Barker also competed (26:08.36).
Hartville
Hartville’s Eagles finished fourth overall in the team standings with 73 points.
Alex Parsons led the way for the Eagles with a 13th place time of 19:59.69. Jarren Simmons was 22nd (20:57.31), Wyatt Francis was 24th (21:00.26), Broc Roden was 26th (21:19.99) and Caleb Dugger finished 29th (22:10.86). Also running were Lane Hughes (22:24.11) and Gustin Dennis (23:53.98).
