Mansfield Lions’ losing streak hits seven straight
Not too long ago, the Mansfield Lions’ baseball team started their season with a 3-0 record.
Unfortunately, after losing another two games last week, the Lions’ losing streak has now reached seven straight.
Against Lighthouse Christian, the Chargers surprised the Lions with three runs in their final at-bat, handing Mansfield a 7-6 loss.
Fisher Croney had three hits, one RBI and one run scored; Bryston Kingery had one RBI and one run scored; Parker Moody and Easton Thompson had one RBI; while Aiden Garrison scored twice. Garrison tossed six innings and gave up two earned runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Cole Whorton tossed a scoreless two-thirds of an inning and gave up one hit with two strikeouts. Croney tossed a third of an inning and gave up two earned runs on two hits. Mansfield also fell to rival Hartville, 8-1. (The information from that contest is in the Eagles’ article.) The Lions are now 3-7.
