DeVries and Dickey win doubles in Salem tourney

Mountain Grove’s tennis team last week was led by their No. 1 doubles team of Trygg DeVries and JP Dickey in the Salem Invitational Tournament. The pair won first place in the event to win tournament medals.
One day earlier, the Panthers as a team fell to Houston, 8-1. Their lone win came from Emma Byrd, who won 8-6.
DeVries fell 8-4, Micah Barbe lost 8-0, Zoe Harrington lost 8-1, Canyon Jarrett fell in a nail biter 8-6 and Megan Adams dropped an 8-4 match.
In doubles, DeVries teamed with Barbe to fall 8-6 in No. 1 doubles. Harrington and Jarrett as well as Adams and Byrd each lost their doubles matches, 9-7.
Mountain Grove also fell to Salem on Thursday, 8-1. (No results were made available by press time.)
