Grove walks off a win against Norwood

The Mountain Grove Lady Panthers’ softball team won an extra-inning thriller with Norwood last week.
Chloe Slagle would score from third base on a passed ball with two outs to give her team the 12-11 victory in the bottom of the eighth inning.
This happened after a crazy seventh inning that saw Norwood score three runs in the frame for an 11-8 edge with the help of four walks and an error.
Mountain Grove answered with Aubrey Owens’ two-RBI double and Aubrie Gerla’s RBI double. Owens would then score on an error to tie the game and send it into extras.
The Lady Panthers somehow won the game as the defense committed nine errors.
Owens had three RBIs and one run scored; Payton O’Connor and Gerla both had one RBI and scored twice; Lily Williams had one RBI and one run scored; while Slagle scored twice.
O’Connor tossed eight innings and gave up five earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts and 11 walks.
Norwood’s offense was led by Jaycee Hall’s one RBI and four runs scored; Maddie Campbell had two RBIs and one run scored; Addison Smith had two RBIs; Addy Gray had one RBI and scored twice; while Reagan Bennett scored twice.
Campbell tossed seven and two-thirds innings and gave up four earned runs on 11 hits with 14 strikeouts.
The Lady Pirates’ defense committed five errors in the loss.
