The Mountain Grove cheerleading squad won first place in the Co-Ed Division for Classes 1-3 in the St. Louis Regional competition held this past Saturday. The competition is sponsored by the Missouri Cheerleading Coaches Association (MCCA). They will now compete in the state championships on Nov. 1.
“These kids have worked so incredibly hard preparing for competition,” said Mountain Grove head coach Marlie Williams. “We began working on the skills progressions last April and really started honing in on the routine at the end of July. Since then, they have made so much progress. As a coach, I feel honored to work with such incredible athletes. I am so proud of them and can’t wait to see them continue to grow and also to watch them take the mat at the MCCA state competition Nov. 1.”
