Lady Panthers’ golf advances to Class 2 state championships

The Mountain Grove Lady Panthers’ golf team qualified their full squad after placing second in the Class 2, District 3 match played on the Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course in Springfield.
In a field of 56 golfers, four Lady Panthers earned Top-20 finishes.
Peyton Tyrrell shot a 94 for seventh place overall.
Chloe Slagle was 12th with a 103 while both Payton O’Connor and Gabby Miller shot a 107 to tie for 18th place.
Emma Crewse shot a 115 at districts.
“I’m super proud of our team,” said Mountain Grove head coach Mike Mallow.
“Second in the district and a team qualifier is awesome and a big accomplishment for a program that’s only in its fourth season. These girls have worked hard and it shows. It was a windy day and the scores were a little higher than usual but they got it done. Great job!”
Mountain Grove’s golfers will now compete in the Class 2 State Championships played at the Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in Bloomfield on Oct. 20-21.
