Lady Panthers’ golf takes second place in Clever

Mountain Grove’s golf team continued their winning ways at recent events held in Clever and Marshfield.
On Oct. 1, the Lady Panthers played at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Clever’s event that featured 22 schools with 12 full teams.
Mountain Grove placed second with a 375.
Leading the way in a field of 79 golfers was Chloe Slagle, who shot an 88 for 11th place. Peyton Tyrrell was 12th (90), Gabby Miller was 15th (97), Payton O’Connor placed 17th (100) and Emma Crewse finished 19th (101).
“The girls played great today,” said Mountain Grove head coach Mike Mallow. “Second out of such a large field is impressive.”
A day earlier, the Lady Panthers traveled to Marshfield for an event featuring several big schools at Whispering Oaks.
The Lady Panthers were fourth as a team with a 385, holding off Lebanon by 19 strokes.
Tyrrell led Mountain Grove with an 11th place score of 93. O’Connor was 12th (96), Crewse and Miller tied for 16th (98) and Slagle finished 23rd (101).
