Lady Panthers’ volleyball picks up pair of SCA Conference victories
Mountain Grove volleyball crushed their way to a three set win over Houston last week.
After opening South Central Association (SCA) Conference play recently with a three set loss to Liberty (Mountain View), the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers’ volleyball team was looking forward to other in conference match-ups on their schedule.
Last week, they made their presence felt by sweeping both Thayer and Houston in three sets.
Against Thayer, the Lady Panthers won 25-17 and 25-23 before crushing the Lady Bobcats, 25-8, in the third set.
In the match-up with the Lady Tigers, Mountain Grove held on late to win all three sets, 25-22, 25-18 and 25-21.
Along with their convincing three set win over Houston, the Lady Panthers fell to a now 17-win Marshfield program, 25-17, 25-16 and 25-14.
In the Quad event played in West Plains during the previous weekend, the Lady Panthers’ lone win was a two set victory over Southern Boone, 25-21 and 25-12.
In the Quad, they lost to West Plains, 25-10 and 29-27.
They also fell to Sullivan, 25-23 and 25-17.
