Lady Panthers defeat Fordland a second time
A little more than two weeks earlier, the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers struggled their way to an eight-point win over Fordland in the semifinals of the tournament hosted by Mansfield.
In the rematch on the Lady Eagles’ home court, Mountain Grove made sure to take care of them a little better this time as they picked up a 39-20 victory.
The Lady Panthers’ defense held Fordland to just two points in two quarters and under 10 points in all four quarters of play.
Mountain Grove led 18-9 at halftime as the girls made five, 3-pointers.
Kaylee Virtue made two of them and scored nine points in the first half.
Sadie Schober scored 10 points in the second half and Stella Benson added eight as the Lady Panthers pulled away for the 19-point win.
Schober scored a team-high 13 points; Virtue had 12; Benson eight; while Cassidy Behrendsen and Hadley Driskill scored three points.
