Lady Panthers pick up another victory
Mountain Grove golfer Payton O’Connor shows off some power on her tee shot at the Wedgewood Country Club.
In a match that Mountain Grove’s golf team hosted at Wedgewood Country Club last week, the Lady Panthers took home first place honors after holding off West Plains by four strokes with a 192.
“It was a nice win for the girls,” said Mountain Grove head coach Mike Mallow.
“West Plains had beaten us previously. So it was great to get that win.”
Leading the way was Gabby Miller and Peyton Tyrrell, who both shot a 46 to tie in fourth place.
Mountain Grove’s Chloe Slagle added a 49 for eighth place, Payton O’Connor shot a 51 for 13th and Emma Crewse shot a 55 for 15th. Cara Nelson finished with a 62 while Aspen Shelton and Avery Talley shot a 57 in the scramble.
The match at Marshfield was postponed due to rain and was moved to Sep. 30.
