Mountain Grove hosts race featuring Norwood, Hartville and other squads

Three Wright County teams participated in the annual Mountain Grove Open held on Oct. 1.
Mountain Grove
The host Panthers were fourth in the team standings with 87 points.
Leading the way for Mountain Grove was three runners with Top-20 finishes in the 51-runner field.
Hunter Bartlett placed fifth overall with a time of 18:48.63 while Trace Hadley was sixth with a time of 18:50.50. Max Guilliams then came in 15th place with his time of 19:41.17.
Also running were Trigg DeVries (22:44.05) and Mark Shaner (23:58.37).
The Lady Panthers were led in the 21-runner field by Keena Roth, who was third place overall with a time of 22:15.04.
Makynli Blackwell was 10th (24:12) and Megan Adams finished 13th (25:38.90).
Hartville
Hartville’s boys finished fifth in the team standings with 89 team points.
Alex Parsons paced the Eagles with his seventh place time of 18:59.43 to earn a medal.
Jarren Simmons was also in the Top-20, finishing 19th (19:59.51).
Other runners included Wyatt Francis (20:36.25), Broc Roden (21:13.69), Lane Hughes (21:15.36), Caleb Dugger (22:28.46) and Gustin Dennis (23:29.11).
No Lady Eagles competed in the race.
Norwood
Kalie Chadwell led the Lady Pirates as she finished fifth overall with a time of 23:33.96. Also finishing in the Top-20 were Aaliyah Irby in 16th (27:26.48), Sadie Kelly in 17th (27:27.88) and Sydney Irwin in 20th (28:56.97).
Gunner Bradshaw led the Pirates as he was ninth place overall with a time of 19:05.74. Kyle Barker (25:32.15) also competed in the race.
