Panthers leave Gainesville with win

The Mountain Grove Panthers’ basketball team has now won three of their past four games after traveling to Gainesville last Friday night and leaving with a 74-65 victory.
The Bulldogs were in control early as they led 34-31 at halftime.
Sam Peterson scored seven of his team’s 15 points in the first quarter. Kale Gardner led the way with five points in the second quarter.
A 22-13 third quarter run helped the Panthers rally for a six-point edge.
In that frame, Peterson had eight points and Gardner scored seven points.
Gardner added a 3-pointer and seven more points in a big 21-point frame to help the Panthers pull away late for a nine-point win.
Peterson scored a team-high 24 points; Gardner scored 21 points; Brody Emery scored eight points; Eli Golden added seven points; while both Brady Anderson and Cooper Hoerning had four points.
Mountain Grove is now one game under .500 with a 7-8 overall record.
