Panthers struggle in Salem Tournament

The Mountain Grove Panthers’ baseball team managed to get just one win in last week’s Salem Tournament. Skip Thompson had a two-RBI double in the top of the ninth inning to lift his team over Cuba, 6-4.
Eli Golden had a big day at the plate with three hits, two RBIs and one run scored; Thompson had two RBIs; and Damien LaFranchise added one RBI and one run scored.
Golden also tossed six innings on the mound and gave up one earned run on one hit with 12 strikeouts and four walks. In the other pair of contests, the Panthers fell 12-2 to Pacific and 16-1 to Waynesville.
