Zoey Criner competes at Class 2 state event

Mountain Grove senior golfer Zoey Criner wrapped up her 2024 season by competing in the Class 2 State Championships on Oct. 21-22 at Fremont Hills Country Club in Ozark.
On day one, Criner shot a 126 to finish in 85th place on the day.
As for day two, Criner shaved off 19 strokes on a windy day to shoot a 107.
In competing in a match with golfers from 60 total teams in Class 2, Criner finished in 81st place with a two-day total of 233.
“I’m really proud of Zoey,” said Mountain Grove head coach Mike Mallow.
“Zoey has only been playing golf a couple of years. Qualifying for state is a huge accomplishment. She played much better the second day and played her best stretch of golf on the final five holes. Her willingness to continue to fight is a testament to her.”
