2025-2026 All-Wright County Boys Basketball Team has been selected

The Wright County Journal has officially released its list of All-Wright County boys basketball selections for the 2025-2026 season.
End of the year statistics were submitted by all eight basketball programs (boys and girls teams) in the county. Statistics do help the Wright County Journal in making the selections, but intangibles of the players are also considered along with a player’s defensive efforts.
The recipient of this year’s MVP award for Wright County is Hartville’s Gus Sinning.
When senior teammate Mason Cogdill was lost to an injury back on Jan. 6, Sinning had to take his effort to another level and he did just that, leading the Eagles to the Class 2 state sectionals, a Class 2, District 10 championship and an undefeated run in the Summit Conference.
Sinning averaged 12.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. He always found a way to come up with a big basket, key defensive play or a big rebound.
There were countless games where it appeared Sinning just simply put his team on his back and willed them to a victory with his inspired effort.
A teammate of Sinning, Hartville senior Boone Garrison, was also a first-team selection. Though averaging just 11.4 points, 4.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game, those statistics do now show just how valuable a piece he was to Hartville’s success this season as the Eagles’ floor general and the effort he gave night in and night out on both sides of the court.
Norwood’s Carder Kelly led Wright County in scoring with 21.3 points per game and was a first-team selection for the Pirates. He also averaged 6.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game as he helped his team to a Top-10 state ranking all season long.
Though he suffered an injury just before the final stretch of the season that ended things early for him, Mansfield’s Jace Headrick did more than enough to earn first-team honors.
Headrick averaged 19.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per game to go along with 2.7 steals and 2.5 assists per contest. The junior lifted the Lions to a state-ranking for most of the season along with helping them to win a pair of tournament championships.
Perhaps the most electrifying player in Wright County was Mountain Grove’s first-team selection, Kale Gardner. Gardner led the county in dunks and finished with 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.5 assists per game.
