Three Norwood track athletes qualify for state sectionals

Three Norwood track and field athletes qualified for sectionals after making the journey to Dexter High School to compete in last weekend’s Class 1, District 1 meet.
Jayden Chambers had a big day for the Lady Pirates as she advanced in three different events.
She won the district championship in the 400 meters with a first place time of 1:02.07. She was also second in the 1,600 (5:37.94) and third in the 3,200 (13:37.03).
Kalie Chadwell advanced in three events. She was third in the 200 meters (28.81), third in the 400 (1:04.29) and fourth in the 100 (14.07).
Jaycee Hall added a sixth place finish in the 200 (29.65) while Anabelle Jarrett was sixth in the 3,200 (19:48.60).
Gunner Bradshaw led the boys by qualifying for sectionals in a pair of events.
He won the district title in the high jump after clearing 2.01 meters. He was also second in the long jump with a leap of 5.83 meters.
In the javelin event, two Pirates earned team points.
Christopher Saladin was fifth (31.04 meters0 and Chanse Sanders was sixth (31.01 meters).
The sectional track and field qualifiers will compete this weekend in Hillsboro.
