Bradshaw earns All-State honors for Norwood

Norwood’s boys and girls track and field program earned a few team points in last weekend’s Class 1 state championships held in Jefferson City.

Leading the Pirates this year was junior Gunner Bradshaw, who earned All-State honors in the high jump event. 

Bradshaw cleared 6’.50” to tie for fourth place with a jumper from Scott County.

Norwood senior Ben Smith just missed earning All-State honors in the 300-meter hurdles as he had the ninth fastest time of 43.36 seconds. He missed the finals by one position. Bradshaw would finish 13th in the race (44.95).

In the 200 meters, Smith was 14th place overall with his time of 23.39 seconds.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Christopher Saladin, Cooper Vaughan, Smith and Bradshaw took 15th place overall with their time of 47.63 seconds. 

The Pirates’ 4.5 team points gave them 43rd place overall in Class 1.

As for the Lady Pirates, Jayden Chambers just missed earning All-State honors in the 400 meters as she had the ninth fastest time of 1:02.65 She missed making the finals by just .04 seconds.

Chambers was also 14th place overall in the 100 meters with a time of 13.26 seconds.
