Lady Pirates crush state champion Fair Grove
The Norwood Lady Pirates added a pair of victories before the recent Pink and White Tournament that was still going on as of press time.
On Dec. 22, they took on defending state champion Fair Grove and cruised to a 54-20 victory as they held the Lady Eagles to seven points or less in all four quarters.
Norwood made five, 3-pointers in the first half against former Mansfield head coach Gary Greene’s Fair Grove squad and cruised to the 34-point win.
Gentry Davault had 16 points; Jayden Chamber had 10; Addy Gray and Jaycee Hall each scored eight; Kalie Chadwell and Lydia Harden had five points; while Reagan Bennett had two points.
Three days earlier, thee Lady Pirates crushed Houston, 67-23.
Norwood led 45-11 at halftime and never looked back in the 44-point win over the Lady Tigers.
Chadwell finished with 20 points; Davault had 18; Chambers scored 10; Hall had nine; Harden had five; Gray had three points; and Jamison Williams scored two points.
