Norwood’s Jayden Chambers wins both district and conference championship races

It was a big week for Norwood cross country runner Jayden Chambers as she won both the Class 1, District 2 and Summit Conference championships.
At the district race held in Hermitage, Chambers held off 64 other runners to win the district title with her time of 20:34.44.
Teammate Kalie Chadwell also qualified for the state race after she was eighth overall with a time of 22:04.43.
Sadie Kelly just missed a qualifying finish as she was 31st with a time of 24:16.29.
For the boys, Caleb Barker won his race in a time of 22:54.05.
In the recent Summit Conference meet held in Conway, Chambers won the conference title with her time of 21:17.49.
Chadwell was just two places back as she earned All-Conference honors with a third place time of 22:46.06.
Kelly was 13th with a time of 25:17.99.
Barker finished 31st in the boys race with a time o 23:50.65.
Chambers and Chadwell will compete in the Class 1 State Championships at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course this Saturday, Nov. 8 in Columbia.
