Norwood Pirates beat state-ranked Chadwick
The Norwood Pirates’ basketball team finished their regular season schedule last week with an 18-7 record after defeating Class 1 state-ranked Chadwick, 61-52.
Norwood opened the game on a 20-12 run as Remington Hill scored 11 points and Pierce Lawson added six.
Carder Kelly, who has been battling sickness in recent games, scored five points in the second quarter to put his team up 12 at halftime.
The Cardinals cut the lead to single digits in the third quarter before the Pirates won the game at the free throw line in the final eight minutes.
They made 8-of-10 to seal the nine-point win.
Hill scored a team-high 18 points; Kelly 14; Carson Vaughan and Lawson had 10 points; Brady Vaughan had five points; and both Andrew Bradshaw and LAKEN Coatney had two points.
