Norwood Pirates lose four of last five games to drop record to 6-4 this spring
The Norwood Pirates’ baseball team started the year undefeated at 5-0.
Unfortunately, after a pair of losses last week, the Pirates have dropped four of their last five contests and are now 6-4 this spring.
One loss came against a now 13-4 Fordland squad, 4-1.
Carder Kelly had a double and one RBI in the loss while Laken Coatney scored the lone run.
Coatney tossed six innings and gave up three earned runs on five hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks.
One day later, Houston scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning to complete an 8-6 rally over Norwood.
Kelly led the offense with two RBIs; Pierce Lawson and Drae Bradshaw each had one RBI and one run scored; Caden Black had one triple and one RBI; while Holten Lopez, Carson Vaughan and Wyatt Bolfing each scored one run.
Black tossed five and two-thirds innings and gave up five earned runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and three walks.
Carson Vaughan tossed one and a third scoreless innings and struck out one.
