Norwood track excels in a pair of meets

Norwood’s track and field team enjoyed success at a pair of meets held last week.
In Mountain Grove on Saturday, Jayden Chambers won the 1,600 meters race with a time of 5:48.92.
She was also fourth in the 300-meter hurdles race with a time of 50.77 seconds.
Chambers teamed with Sadie Kelly, Jaycee Hall and Kalie Chadwell to win the 4x400 race (4:27.90).
Chadwell took fourth in the long jump (4.69 meters) and fifth in the 400 (1:08.53).
The 4x200-meter relay team of Reagan Bennett, Hall, Kelly and Chadwell was sixth (2:06.74).
Kelly was sixth in the 800 (2:43.29).
In the SBU Bearcat Classic held at Southwest Bolivar University in Bolivar, Chambers led the team in the large meet with a fifth place time of 8:48.44 in the 2,000-meter steeplechase.
