Three Norwood CC runners advance to state

Three Norwood cross country runners earned their way to the Class 1 State Championships last weekend after earning a spot at the Class 1, District 2 race in Plato.
The Lady Pirates were just 12 points away from making it to state as a team after combining for 121 points.
Jayden Chambers and Kalie Chadwell both paced the Lady Pirates with Top-20 finishes in districts.
Chambers was 11th place overall with her time of 22:58.06 while Chadwell placed 19th with a time of 23:46.50.
In the more than 75-runner field, Aaliyah Irby was 35th with her time of 25:35.17.
Other Norwood runners were Sadie Kely (26:02.07) and Sydney Irwin (29:43.26).
In a loaded boys race with 117 runners, Gunner Bradshaw earned his way to state with a 26th place time of 19:00.70.
Other runners were Brady Vaughan (23:02.82) and Kyle Barker (25:25.75).
The three state qualifying runners will compete in the Class 1 State Championships on Nov. 8 at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia.
