Nolan Eugene Sellars was born Sep. 8, 1950, in Mountain Grove, and passed away on Sep. 9, 2025, at his home in Clinton, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 75 years and 1 day of age. He was a devoted husband for 50 years to Mary Sellars, “Daddy” to all his kids along with the neighborhood kids that his kids brought in. He loved to see his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a family man through and through. He was a truck driver for most of his life including his time in the Army. He also was a carpenter and mechanic. He loved to tinker with cars and build anything his wife wanted.
Nolan was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Sellars; his parents, Frank and Vera Sellars; one granddaughter; one sister; and four brothers-in-law. Nolan leaves behind four children, Jody Carpenter and husband, Sean, Tammy Moss, Calvin Mings and wife, Susan, and Kevin Mings; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as three sisters, Carolyn Newberry, Sue Browning and Jeanie Edwards. Nolan will be missed by many other family members and friends. Visitation for Nolan Sellars will be from 10-11 a.m. with funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sep. 20, 2025, in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove, with Pastor Judy Talbert officiating. Burial will be in the Denlow Cemetery, Douglas County, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove.
