FFA Grasslands team places third in national contest for Norwood

Norwood’s 2025 Grassland team finished third place overall in the Mid-America National FFA Grasslands Contest  held in nearby Springfield.
Norwood first won the southwest district title before finishing sixth at the state FFA event to qualify for nationals.
They are the first ever grasslands team from Norwood to make it to nationals.
“I’m super proud of all four individuals,” said Norwood FFA Advisor John Branstetter. “They started in their very first contest in heavy rain and almost finished it in heavy rain.”
Branstetter noted that three members of the team will be returning for a chance to make a run at winning titles on the district, state and perhaps the national level next year.
Norwood’s FFA Grasslands team consists of Sydney Irwin, Jenna Brixby, Dana Harden and Tayler Williams.
