Hartville Junior High tops in Vocabulary Bowl
Spring has sprung—and so have the results of Vocabulary.com’s Spring 2025 Vocabulary Bowl, the world’s largest academic competition. Hartville Junior High School clinched the top spot in Missouri’s Middle/Elementary School Division—a remarkable achievement that places them in the top 5% of competitors.
The Bowl is a biannual, online competition hosted on Vocabulary.com. Students don’t compete in person—instead, they earn points for their school by mastering words while using the platform. Each time a student answers enough questions correctly to demonstrate mastery of a word, their school earns one point.
More than 380,000 learners and 30,000 teachers from 109 countries joined the action. Hartville Junior High School led the charge, mastering 11,483 words to secure their victory.
