Norwood R-I School District set for Kindgarten Screening

Developmental screenings are a free service offered to anyone in the Norwood R-1 School District regardless of whether you choose to enroll in any of our programs.
This screening is required for all families who choose to enroll their child in Kindergarten or Early Childhood for the 2026-27 school year.
Developmental screening date for Kindergarten will be Thursday, March 19.
This will be the only screening date offered this year.
Children must be five years old before Aug. 1, 2026 to enroll in Kindergarten. Developmental screening dates for children ages three, four, and five will be
Friday, March 20. This will be the only screening date offered this year.
To be considered for our Early Childhood program your child must be 3 or 4 years old before Aug. 1, 2026.
To schedule an appointment, call 417-746-4101 ext. 125 between the hours of 8 a.m.-3:30 pm. Screenings will take approximately one hour.
Forms will be available during screening if your child meets all the requirements to enroll for the 2026-27 school year.
This enrollment form must be signed by the parent/ guardian of the child.
Your child’s social security card(optional), birth certificate (optional), immunization records, and proof of residency (utility bill, driver’s license, real estate/renter’s contract) are required for enrollment.
*Results of screening need to be shared with the parent or guardian, so we prefer they bring their child to screening.
