Weight room project, grant pursuit approved by R-III Board

The Sep. 10 meeting for the Mountain Grove R-III School Board was a special session meeting to discuss future projects within the school district.  At the meeting, discussions included the district’s previous surveys and input that it had received about potential projects and decided the new weight room at the high school was the best option for our next project.  This project was formally approved at the Sep. 17 meeting. The district will be starting to talk to contractors and architects, as well as getting bids and touring other weight rooms to get ideas for the project. Another discussion in the Sep. 10 special session meeting was the School Board agreed to give the school the permission to pursue a matching 50/50 grant to make improvements towards Maberry Sports Complex. This project was formally approved at our Sep. 17 meeting. If the grant is received, it could potentially make this a $500,000 project. 
Final approval was given by the Board  to move forward with the weight room and grant project for the Maberry Sports Complex.
In other items, Sarah Sartor gave a program evaluation on our Assessment Plans and Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit. 
The Board formally approved the school district buying a house at 210 9th St. that sits next to the Elementary playground. 
-All of the building SMART goals were shared and they are currently available on our school website. Sartor gave an overview of current new curriculum in math, science and phonics.
The Board also discussed the Financial Payment Schedule from now through the 2034-35 school year. In personnel news on Sep. 17, employment was approved for Kristina Short, bus aide, as well as a list of additional substitute teachers.
